Nita Cagle lives in Carencro and is an artist who has enhanced her natural talent by taking numerous workshops and classes. Some of the people she has studied under are - Norma Roy, Johnny Liliedahl, Ann Templeton, and Mit DeSpain.
John, Nita's husband of 20 years, and thier daughter Kim were the driving force in Nita becoming the artist she is today. Before her husband died in 2006, they enjoyed travelling and she was able to paint in some of the beautiful places they visited. Some of her favorite places she painted were Alaska, California, and Prescott Valley, Arizona, where they lived for 3 years.
The subject matter(florals, landscapes, and potraits) and mediums used(waterclors, oils, and acrylics) are as varied as Nita is.
Nita was a charter member of the Denham Springs Fine Arts Association, as well as a member in the Gonzales Art Association, Louisiana Art & Artist Guild in Baton Rouge, and C.A.S.A. in Prescott Valley, Arizona.
