Jarvis Hebert began his artistic career as a professional photographer in 1968. Many of his prints were recognized by the Professional Photographers of America as "Prints of Merit" and he was oftern invited to be a guest speaker and qualified judge of professional photography at state conventions.
Jarvis serves as President of the Louisiana Professional Photographers in 1985. Throughout his sucessful career as a professional photographer, he studied the posing and lighting used by the "Old Masters". His knowledge grew and Art became his passion.
Now, through the magic of a brush, Jarvis is able to paint light with confidence. He has been a serious student of Art History, and has been inspired by the works of Renoir and Monet during his travels to France and Michelangelo in Italy. Jarvis's favorite artist was John Singer Sargent.
Jarvis Hebert's comman of posing and lighting enables him to produce portraits of exceptional quality and his knowledge of composition is reflected in the beautiful scenic art her creates.
