Bonnie Camos
Bonnie Camos is a Lafayette artist best known for her acrylic paintings of the people and places of Southwest Louisiana. She brings a vital energy to her work that is expressed in the colorful images she creates. Whether capturing a pastoral scene on canvas, working with intense colored encaustic medium or creating whimsical characters such as the Gris Gris Sisters", her work always engages the viewer.
Bonnie earned a BFA in Visual Arts from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is a member of the Lafayette Art Association, the Crowley Art Association, the Louisiana Craft Guild and is a past board member of the Acadiana Arts Council.
She was an official "Pelicans on Parade" artist (2002) as well as a participant in "Artchestra", creating a special work for the Acadiana Symphony violin auction fundraiser(2005).
Her paintings have been collected locally, nationally and abroad. Her work is a direct reflection of her love for art and life, infused with a dash of humor and a heaping dose of color.
