 Ann Chappuis

Ann Chappuis was born and raised in Nova Scotia. She moved to Louisiana 12 years ago. She does many forms of handcrafts including knitting, crocheting, many types of needlepoint, and beading. But her passion is quilting.

Ann started crocheting and knitting at the age of 5. Both crafts were a big part of her life. She raised 2 boys on her own. So her children wore many hand made socks, mittens, sweaters, etc. When her first grandchild was born she decided to make him a quilt. Many quilts have followed.

Ann has done Art Quilts, Applique Quilts, Crazy Quilts, and Wholecloth. But she prefers to do traditional Patchwork Quilts. She also has an extensive fabric collection, her favorites being 1930's reproduction fabrics.

She does all her quilts by machine from start to finish. She pieces on a small Janome and quilts them on Broom Hilda(a 10 ft Hinterberg frame and Juki machine). Ann also owns 3 antique hand crank machines and a treadle machine. Yes, she has quilted through a few power outages.

Below are just a few pf the many quilts Ann has made.
